Susan Kaner Raskin MS, CNS
Clinical Nutritionist

Susan Kaner Raskin is a Clinical Nutritionist with a private practice in Park Slope, Brooklyn. She received her MS in Human Nutrition from University of Bridgeport and is a Board Certified Nutrition Specialist. She is also a certified FirstLine Therapy Lifestyle Educator and formerly a massage therapist. Susan has been working to educate and improve the well being of the Park Slope community for over 25 years.

Susan’s approach to nutrition is research based and individualized. She believes that a balanced diet is the foundation for optimal health. What constitutes balance however, varies according to one’s lifestyle and condition. Eating fresh and seasonal foods with high quality protein, carbohydrates, and fats, is the key to building a diet that promotes health.

In addition to diet, Susan will often recommend specific nutraceuticals
to supplement nutrients that are needed. Supplements are used to support the various pathways in the body that digest, create energy, build and repair tissues, promote immunity, and assist in eliminating toxins. Stress, illness, aging, exercise, pregnancy, chronic pain, and pollutants are among the conditions that can deplete nutrients and create a need for nutritional supplementation. Susan will review supplement protocols regularly to check for drug-nutrient interactions, appropriate dosages and whether to add or discontinue certain products.

Susan works closely with her clients to help them formulate and achieve their health goals in a safe, supportive, non-judgmental environment. She works with people of all ages and with a wide variety of health concerns.
